What's New for 2026
New Programs: Outdoor Skills lvl 2, Mini Terrarium, Pipe Cleaner Flowers, Felted Owls, Leaf Painting, Spider Web Suncatcher, Crochet, Recycled CD Card Holder. We will be adding some new activities as part of the Household Chemistry, and we will be bringing the Eco Warrior Escape Challenge Back. For the Older Girl After Party, we are planning to include some new crafts and possibly Henna tattoos.
Outdoor Cooking Competition: The theme for this year....Brunch. So this will be judged based on PAL and if we have enough in each category, will award a 1st, 2nd, 3rd for each. The three categories will be Junior, Cadette, Senior/Ambassador. Your dish can be savory or sweet, it must be cooked by the girls, and it must be prepared at camp.
Financial Assistance: Thanks to the Second Winds Alumni Group, we have some options to offer limited financial aid to girls or troops who may need some assistance to be able to pay for camp
Host a Volunteer: Due to low interest in the Progressive Dinner options, we are looking to try something new and offer troops the opportunity to host a Volunteer for Lunch or Dinner. We will pair you up with one of our camp volunteers so you can host them for a meal, and spend some time sharing stories and Girl Scout memories.
NEW Bathrooms/Showerhouse/Storm Shelter: Exciting news! GSRV has had constructions ongoing through fall and winter on a NEW flush bathroom and shower house near the Yurts and Lackbrae. And it is projected to be ready in time for Prairie Flower. So exciting to have a new bathroom to add to the Kaper List. :)
Service Project: We are looking for a troop to host a Service Project for camp. If you are interested, please reach out to us ASAP. Ideally we would like to have the details in time for the March Leaders meetings.
